The following excerpts give three different perspectives on Emmaus school - an inspector, a parent and a pupil

A Parent's View - taken from a letter written in 2004 to the head teacher

"The last year that my son has spent at your school has been a wonderful growth experience. I never thought I would see him enjoying learning so much. He is excited to go to school each day."

"I am truly amazed at the quality education that Emmaus is able to offer with such a limited staff of volunteers. The teacher to student ratio is ideal for providing one on one attention to the pupils and the level of subject that is available is superior." While I am sure that he will not be fully knowledgeable of American history upon his return, I feel his knowledge of world history will be better than most students of his age. In literature, I cannot recall reading and analysing the works of such authors as Dickens, Hemingway and Orwell at the age of 11. He has the opportunity to study French and Latin, take lessons in piano, violin and other instruments and participate in drama and musical performances.

"As a parent both concerned and involved with my child's education, I could not have asked for a better partner than the team at Emmaus. I highly commend the staff at Emmaus for their focus and attention in providing a superior, well-rounded education and extend my sincerest, heartfelt thanks."

A Former Pupil's View

"Emmaus has been such a great help to me. It taught me things about the Lord I had never even dreamed were true. My best memories have been at Emmaus and I have met some of the most wonderful people there, people I will never forget. Since Emmaus was so small, everybody was so friendly, everybody knew you by name, so it was more like a big loving family than a school."

"We had water fights, plays (The Wooden Horse of Troy and Jungle Book) and spent an American Thanksgiving Day at my house - would a normal big school do that? No, but our school would because Emmaus isn't like any other school, but a lot lot better. I will never forget Emmaus School."
