School Trip to Noah's Ark

School Trips rarely involve the whole school, but June 18th was an exception as everyone went to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm at Wraxall near Bristol.

During the morning, each class went and looked at the animals for about an hour before going to the morning animal show, where they were introduced to many different types of animals and birds - horses, an owl, a goat, a snake, turtle and sheep. The domestic donkey was shown to have a cross shape on its back and the lady used that to tell the Easter story.

After this there was a chance for some children to bottle feed some lambs, which some of them relished.

Further opportunities came for hands on experience, when the children of all ages were able to hold a Boa Constrictor which was almost 2m long; others were able to feed the camels through the fence with green shoots. Thankfully, no one got nibbled - or spat at! Despite the amazing variety of animals on display, most of the seniors chose to go to the play area after lunch when they were given free time.

GCSE Art students had to work during the visit  and drew pictures of lizards amongst other things. As always happens on these sorts of trips, the shop proved very popular at the end of the day.  Amazingly, no one fell asleep on the way home - maybe that was something to do with the sweets that were being thrown around on the coach.

(Despite appearances, the horse on the left is NOT being fed - a hand is just being licked!)

Everyone had a really great time.
