Items for Prayer

Many of you assure us of your regular prayers for the School and it is really appreciated. To help you in your prayers here are some current items for thanksgiving and prayer.

Thanksgiving for filled places in Primary.

At the end of the last academic year, it was forecast that there would be 13 spaces in Primary last September and most of those places have been filled.  Above all, prayer has been answered for more children in Class 1.  Keep praying that the remaining 5 places in the Primary department will be taken.

The work of the Christian Schools’ Trust

Kevin and Miriam found this week’s CST conference for Heads and Chairs of Governors very beneficial. Sadly, The Kings’ School, Nottingham, is closing at Easter after 25 years – please pray for the pupils who have to move schools and the teachers that have to find new jobs.  This is not a small school and the closure is of great sadness to everyone involved in CST.  Let’s be thankful for what we have at Emmaus School and pray that God will really establish the work here.

The Building Fund

Pupils have just raised over £100 by themselves and we are thankful for their initiative in raising money.  Please pray that they will be encouraged by the breakthrough that is needed in the fundraising to enable building to start.

Giving

In the current financial climate it would be wonderful if there were people willing to fund a child, or regularly donate to the Bursary Fund.  Please pray that the wider Christian community will catch the vision for Christian education and have their hearts moved to give in practical ways.

Production

If you would like to help with any aspect of putting on a production – props, costume, production, lighting or sound. I would love to hear from you – lots of help is needed!

Last Autumn’s Photoshoot.

If anyone would like a CD of all their photos from the photo shoot, Simon Arnold will produce one for you. (The photos will be straight off the camera and unedited).  The cost per CD is £27.  If you would like one, please could you let Vivian Gulliford know together with cash or cheque made payable to Emmaus School.  All the money will go to the Building Fund.

School Council – After School Clubs

The School Council has raised the desire for there to be more after school clubs at Emmaus. Below is a list of suggestions that the school pupils have given. If you would be able to offer an after school club for any of these activities or would be able to offer something else please get in contact with the school via teachers@emmaus-school.org.uk.

Congratulations to Amy Van Haver who last week recited all of her catechism answers one after the other, 134 answers in total. Well done Amy.

Help wanted

Two GCSE Biology students need a lift to Chippenham at lunchtime on Thursday 8th March to do an exam.  Can anyone help with this?  Please let Mrs Gulliford know if you can by emailing info@emmaus-school.org.uk
