School Prospectus

The following information should help you to grasp something of how the school is run.

The philosophy of Emmaus School

The school starts with the understanding that men, women and children are made in the image of almighty God. Accordingly, the teachers seek to establish an atmosphere of mutual respect, recognising how precious and special human life is. Children and teachers are fallen and sinful, but we have a pattern set for us, that of the Lord Jesus Christ who is God the Son.

The aims of Emmaus School

1. To help children develop their relationship with God, other people and the world that God has created

2. To prepare children to live in contemporary society

3. To develop Biblical character: attentiveness, faithfulness, creativity, diligence, patience, contentment, obedience, wisdom, tenderheartedness, thankfulness, honesty, joyfulness, love, forgiveness, responsibility and self-control.

4. To enable children to develop an appreciation of culture and ideas.

5. To develop the God-given talents and abilities of each pupil.

6. To produce people who are independent thinkers and view education as a life long process.
